Description

This is the our first WW2 French tank! The light infantry tank was designed in the 1930s to replace the aging FT-17 tank and was named after its year of manufacture, 1935. The R35 was small and relatively lightly armed, with a 37mm main gun and a 7.5mm machine gun. Its armour was also relatively thin, but it was fast and manoeuvrable, making it well-suited for supporting infantry in battle. Despite its limitations, the R35 remained in service throughout the war, and was used by both French and German forces.
