Description

The Churchill tank was the most famous British heavy infantry tank. It was featured by its heavy armour and a low top speed to keep up with the walking pace of the infantry soldiers. It had overcome serious reliability problems early in its career to become a mainstay of the British armoured forces. After Dieppea raid,  the German report criticized the Churchill as being weakly armed with obsolete, ineffective weapons and equipped with tracks that broke easily. However, only two of the 29 tanks were penetrated by the German antitank guns.

This set features the model of Churchill III with welded turret .

Its a good build some peices don’t line up the tracks don’t quite fit in the track guards looks good I modified it a bit to fit a 75mm main gun aka the Churchill mk7 for its size its quite alot bigger than minifigures I thought it’d be closer to the tiger 1s size but non the less a very detailed build

Excellent and realistic kit. Instructions sometimes difficult

  3. Ruaraidh

Overall a very great set and definitely worth the money. Very tricky to put together however and theres some mistakes in the instructions such as pieces which dont show up on the peice list or in the bags and such so i had to work around that. Incredibly accurate and detailed model and good size and level of complexity for the money and I really enjoyed making it 😀

    Perfect gift.

I was very happy with the turnout of this. Whilst the pieces are a little tough to pull apart if you make a mistake the end product is well worth it. Will happily buy more in the future!

The Ultimate Lego Tank. This is hands down the most detailed Lego Churchill tank for sale, I highly recommend getting if you’re a stickler for accuracy or detail

    Pros:

Best looking Churchill tank on the market
Uses bricks in colors that not even LEGO makes
Plenty of extra pieces that you’ll want for future builds
    Minifigure scale + limited playability
The instruction booklet is really nice and tidy and the packaging is tidy too.
Genuinely interesting building techniques employed. The creativity with this set is what makes it the best Churchill model around.
Comes with 4 stickers, these are just markings for the tanks and are fairly easy to put on
Realistic engine, transmission, turret, and driver&gunner compartments with amazing detail. Definitely more details than brick mania
Amazing deal, I had to pay for international shipping so this cost me $97. Given legos recent price increases and how expensive ordering parts off of bricklink, or buying a brick mania model, this is an amazing deal. $97 for $130 worth of bricks, and a well made instruction booklet too. It’s insane that this is simultaneously the best looking model and the most affordable way to get a minifigure scale Churchill tank. If your building MOCs with Churchill’s, you should definitely buy them from here
Plenty of spare track links, you’ll never need to worry about running out of track links

    Cons:
The plastic is tough, meaning building will hurt your fingers, and the bricks won’t snap together as easily as you want. It’s frustrating needing to remove bricks if you put them in wrong

The set is Lego compatible however the coloration is a double edged sword. On one hand this build is done in a color that Lego doesn’t even offer. Meaning that you get better detail than you could with Lego parts, the disadvantage if if your missing a piece or want to combine these with Lego, they will not be the same color. The green doesn’t match, and the dark grey is really close but not quite the same if you look really hard

The instructions are out of date. You can tell that the parts for the model you receive are not the parts for the model in the instructions. A lot of complaints about this are about the instructions, but it’s not that bad. There is one piece that is swapped for a similar looking piece. Then there’s 5 places where you’ll need to back track in order to set things right. It doesn’t take an engineering degree to build this, just a little determination. It should be fine for any adult builder. However you should heed the difficulty warning. The building techniques, combined with little quirks in the instructions and the hard plastic means that this isn’t an easy build, it’ll challenge you, and it’s definitely an 8/10.

Missing pieces. This is the second biggest complaint I’ve seen about this, and it’s also not bad. In total I was missing 2 pieces out of 1300+. The pieces that were missing were easily replaced by spares that I already had, or were interior pieces which I felt comfortable ignoring. Missing pieces won’t stop the build dead in its tracks and you’ll genuinely be fine building this. Especially considering they give you 30+ extra pieces.

    Overall, I’d buy this if you’re a :
    British tank fan
    Stickler for accuracy and details
Looking for a challenging building experience
In need of a Churchill tank for a MOC or just want a great deal on Lego tanks

My last review was during the build, now it’s built it’s amazing to look at and it’s the most compact and solid sets I have. The quality control of the set is still an issue though especially for a set of that size and price. Other than that it’s a cool build, Very hard at times ( as expected ) but a great outcome nonetheless.

the tank looks amazing as usual, and its big, even longer then the king tiger. the hull and turret are sturdy, but the covers of the track dont fit quite well, you really have to push them into place. there is some strain there. but overall very satisfying.

Very difficult and intricate build in a good way. 2 problems though, treads don’t move or if they do it’s like very weird. Next some pieces were missing luckily were not main ones and I was able to use some from my own legos to replace so. Also the small wheels are not green they are grey which the picture doesn’t show accurately and should probably change haha. But overall it’s very beautiful and looks great on display also much larger than you think so very cool. Might buy again if they get their piece count under a bit more control.

This is a fantastic build i purchased 3 of them and they were a joy to build and they look amazing! still one of the Nicest Churchill designs ive seen! The only thing I could complain about is that the tracks are a bit finicky to get lined up on the rollers but was not really that big of an issue and I was able to get them lined up on all 3 of my builds! absolutely love this tank 🙂

  23. Matthias R. (verified owner)

Insgesamt Sehr gute Qualität so wie der Tiger nur Robuster.
Aber Laufrollen und ein Paar andere Steine in Grau.
    4 – 5 Punkte

  24. Jonathan Baum (verified owner)

One of the most solid builds ive done from BuildArmy. (5th build)

As per usual having a back stock of spare pieces is becoming a necessity… Since the 1st build (Tiger) i’ve had to rely on having spare parts from previous builds and honestly because of this build, spare lego technic pieces).

As always, the end result is fantastic, however I would like to see a tightening of quality control on pieces. The last 4 sets have been trouble in that department, but fantastic once completed.

Overall, keep up the amazing design work! I have been buying these sets instead of the new technic sets which would usually be where my fun budget goes.

Hi thanks for being a loyal customer of Buidarmy. During sorting the bricks, all bags are weighed by electronic balance to check if there’s anything missing and We always provide extra spare pieces for small parts. However mistakes can still happen as all pieces are hand-picked, especially when we push to released new sets in kind of rush.

Buildarmy provided exceptionally detailed, historically accurate models. I have been collecting bricks for years and this is one of the finest sets I have ever built. Thank you. I will definitely be buying more Buildarmy products.

Buena calidad de los bloques y muy buen detalle. Además muy buenos detalles en las 5 minifiguras

Great delivery! Placed the order for this last Monday and received it the Friday. The tank is beautiful, I love the Churchill because of how bulky it is and the detail captured in this kit is amazing!

The only thing I could suggest is that the kit come with 1.5 unit wide tracks instead of 1 unit wide tracks. Personal preference because I like to have a single chain track rather than 2 and found this rolled more smoothly :). One caveat though if using 1.5 unit wide tracks is I replaced the front gears with a Technic gear 24 1 Axle hole, as this caught the tracks much better!

Really happy with my purchase and will be buying again!

      Hi Sham,

Thanks for your suggestion! According to the scale ratio (about 1:33), the width of the track should be 2 units.

Great build very easy to follow instructions and looks great can’t fault it.

Really good piece of work and I really enjoyed building it. The price is fair for its size.
