Description
Delve into the WW2 German engineering and tactical strategy with our StuG III G model kit. Mirroring its historical development during WWII, this kit was faithfully recreated based on our Panzer III by replacing its turret with a fixed casemate. Featuring detailed craftsmanship both inside and out, it has a removable roof which give access to the detailed 7.5cm StuK 40 L/48 gun with elevation and the Maybach HL120 gasoline engine. Ideal for collectors, history buffs, and advanced model builders, the StuG III G kit offers a distinctive building experience that highlights the tactical innovations of WWII. Whether used for educational purposes, display, or wargaming, this model stands as a powerful representation of wartime ingenuity.
A Brief History of StuG III Tank Destroyer
The StuG III, although often underrated by Allied intelligence during WWII, emerged as the most prolific German armoured fighting vehicle of the conflict. It was built on a simplified Panzer III chassis with clean and interchangeable parts which made it easy to fix. Replacing the turret with a fixed casemate, it mounted a powerful 7.5cm StuK 40 L/48 gun which could destroy almost any Allied tank except the IS Soviet tank and the Jumbo Sherman. With its low-profile, firepower, low cost and standardised production, StuG III transitioned from an infantry support vehicle to a formidable tank hunter across various theatres of war, including North Africa, Europe, and Russia. The Ausf. G was the final and main variant, with over 8,400 units produced from December 1942 to April 1945. It was considered by many as the No. 1 tank destroyer in military history, with over 30,000 claimed victories.

This is not a review, however a response to the commentt from “Annette Paradis” which appears below this one. I am but a humble customer of Buildarmy.
The purpose of this response is to falsify the “slander” if you will of the comment below as it would be a great shame to dissuade any potential customers from the amazing company that is Buildarmy by casting doubt on their products and service. The product in question here is the StuG III Ausf. G. Concerning Annette’s comment on a lack of physical instructions, it is clearly specified in the product description that this set comes with digital instructions. In terms of the comment on no stylized product box with artwork coming with the set, no such box is shown in the product images nor description of the product. If an argument is to be made that such an aspect is expected from someone familiar with LEGO, than the customer is at fault for ignorance of the custom building block market. A brief viewing of Buildarmy’s site would also indicate that this product comes with no such box, as Buildarmy products that do have the option of selecting an “Economy kit” or “Gift kit” for purchase, the ladder coming with a product box and the other not for those who’d rather have lower shipping costs. The comment which has been criticized in this response is a result of costumer ignorance.

Hi James,
Thank you very much for being a loyal customer and helping us clarifying the issues! I just want to add that I have reached the final version of the StuG III and we will produce the packaging box and instruction booklets for it shortly. Also, We apologize for causing the confusion for other new buyers who are not familiar with our products.
Cheers,
Ruibin

I expected the product in a box and not in little unmarked bags. Also I didn’t know that instructions are separate. That was disappointing.

This was the first time I bought custom Legos. I am amazed how these guys are so close to the original ones, the pieces fit so well. The stug turned out great, took me more than usual but it was so damn worth. Tracks also move smoothly and the package seems to have many spare parts, definitely more than we get from original Legos. Good work.

Even though I don’t have much experience with other brick companies than LEGO, I can say that these bricks have a very good quality and the set itself is good value for the money you pay.

Im super happy with this kit. After confirming the quality, I cant say enough how impressed I am with the detailed design and frankly the fact that it is vastly superior to MUCH more expensive kits that you will find for the Stug III when looking at other options. They designed it with pieces rather than relying on stickers for fine detail like some other recognizable retailers *cough cough*.
They did a great job with scale and fitting the right pieces in the right places, plus its super customizable if you fancy personal add-ons. I am more than satisfied with the purchase and the excellent customer service I received after a couple small bumps in the road. I have to commend them for the fact that they definitely care about their customer base!
Overall 5/5, and subjectively the best Stug kit you can find given that it is so detailed and looks great in form.

Received the kit today, just finished it this evening. Very impressive detail, particularly on bits that you’d never normally see but it’s nice to know they’re there (camshaft on the engine, articulated driver and gunners’ seats, recoil guard on the gun, steering levers, transmission etc.). One or two brick placements (particularly the roof and the engine deck centre) are a bit fragile but easily worked out, fixed and/or modified with the ample spare pieces provided.
I was wondering, do you stock mini MG42s like on your Sdfkz 251 half track model? Or would you consider doing a Schurzen skirt kit for this like on your Panzer IV? Both would be excellent additions to the model. I am looking into ways to maybe mount some of the spare track links on the hull, field-modification style.

Hi Will,
Thank you so much for the kind comment and valuable suggestions. Yes I’d add the machinegun to this model and do a skirt add-on.
Philemon (verified owner) –
High quality and perfect construction, best stug i had build.
Marc Gendron (verified owner) –
Very interesting model like all the others ones. Looking to add one MG42 on the top of the roof. Any chance to create the sdkfz 234 PUMA someday ? Thanks for all !
admin –
Thanks for the feedback. Yes the PUMA is in our project list.

i love your stuff , you always find solutions to all building issues

Thanks! Yes it’s a lot of fun to find the best/compromised solutions like playing puzzle. And I found Lego always has its way to fit the geometry. Sometimes I turn to our followers for ideas on Instagram :).

Received the kit on Saturday, finished it yesterday. The level of detail is immense and it looks great! Had a lot of fun building it! Love the fact that it comes with extra parts so there is room to customise the finished article.Would highly recommend purchasing, I definitely will be purchasing more 🙂 thank you so much!

Is that normal than it doesn’t roll ?
admin –
Hi, it can roll against rough surface. It is because the 2m cross axles for the big wheels have friction (the corresponding lego piece: 18651, fric). In order for it to roll smoothly you need to cut off the friction ridges manually. Cheers,

Looks great but it came without the Building manual (only electronic files sent to email)
