Features: • Building difficulty: 9/10 • 1394 pieces plus extra spare parts. • Interior structure • Dimensions: L 44.8 x W 30.4 cm. • 1:33 scale. • PDF Instructions will be sent through email upon request. • Package: Polybag (no box)
Delivery: The package was in Germany within a few days. It’s very nice to know that I always receive my order quickly. But what really left me speechless was the cheap cardboard box, which wasn’t even a box but just cardboard wrapped around it. I had thought that with the growth of the company, they would be one step ahead. Too bad! You can never make a first impression twice!
Quality: The quality of the stones is great. The adhesive strength and surfaces, especially of the tiles, are very good. Even over longer stones, there is no deformation along the length.
Instructions: Clear work steps, often shown in very small steps. There are only one or two places in the instructions where the stones are hidden. However, you can simply go a few steps further and then recognize the position, for example under the wings.
Model: The model corresponds very closely to the original. The representation of the engine units inside the aircraft is particularly beautiful. The model has real engineering aspirations. It’s amazing! All the main flaps are included and can be shown open or closed accordingly. The surfaces are accurate, but may be fluttery in some places and fall off easily. Once the model is standing, it is relatively stable in itself. It also only stands on the running gear. However, the running gear could be a little stronger. Unfortunately, the hooks supplied do not work for the running gear. The running gear could be modified so that hands (used stones) represent the angle on the rear running gear from above and below. It would certainly be worthwhile for the designer to rework this, especially to provide a white colour. I changed the front wheel, as I was not happy with the plastic wheel assembled by two black stones. The elevators appear somewhat disproportionate due to the long tiles or feel “contrary to the direction of flight”. The cockpit is unfortunately too small for a pilot figure. If you leave out the legs, a pilot fits in. (ATTENTION: Pilot is not included in the model!) The base plate supplied is extremely solid, but I don’t use it. I’ll see if I can represent the hovering state with trans clear bricks. I don’t like the sand-coloured bricks.
Conclusion: For me, this F35 B is currently the most successful model on the market, especially with the representation of the engine unit inside. This is a highlight and also ensures that the model is not extremely heavy. The fact that there is also room for a pilot, albeit without legs, really rounds things off.
